The principles of the method

CT, like conventional radiological methods, uses X-rays to obtain an image of the inside of the human body. 

This is achieved by measuring their differential absorption in tissues with different densities. (tomodensitometry).

CT is clearly superior to classic radiological examinations in providing cross-sectional images through the human body, with much sharper differentiation of organs and pathological problems.
